I am a twenty something realtor in the wonderful city of Wichita, Kansas. My husband and I live just outside of the city in a quiet stretch of country on the south side. My husband is a civilian firefighter at McConnell Air Force Base. I spend most of my time on real estate, but I always take time to enjoy and entertain my close friends and family.
About My Area
After living and traveling to many places in my short life, I feel safe in saying that Wichita is one of the best places to live. If you aren't looking to move here, you should at least take a few days to enjoy our city. The city itself is small, and therefore easy to navigate. Traffic isn't bad except for the dreaded corner of Rock and Kellogg (will they ever finish that road work??!!!). The city seems to always be expanding and the shopping here really draws in the visitors. We have a ton of aerospace industry here, like Boeing and Cessna. I really enjoy the local hockey team (Go Thunder!) as well as the wide variety of dining our city has to offer. It's always fun to take my visiting family to the zoo, which added a new penguin exhibit this year, and in my opinion is one of the better zoos for a city our size. There's lots of museums here as well, and plenty of night life. There's Old Town, which is a concentration of many bars and discos that really draw in the younger crowds. For my entertainment I choose one of our two large honky tonks, Sam's or Rodeo (Rodeo being the better and more fun in my opinion - they ride the bulls in the bar!) I could go on and on about our area, trust me, you'll never be bored here, no matter what you like to do, and if you feel like doing nothing, in minutes you're out in the country side so far from town you'd never believe it. Take a drive north on the turn pike and enjoy the beautiful natural site of cattle on the prairie (which turns a shade of green more beautiful than emeralds in the spring), or drive out west to Cheney lake for some water sports, or north to Eldorado lake for more family fun. There I go again, there's just so much, and for everyone!
Recent Sales
The most exciting recent sale was the purchase of my own home! Due to the nature of my husband's job, when we moved here from Alabama, we only had twenty days to find a place to live, and therefore not enough time to buy. After being locked into a one year lease, we were more than ready to own our own peice of Kansas, and now we do.
